Two years ago, we introduced our Luggage Strap Finder (LT-T62) with USB-C charging to the European market, and it was well received.
Now, with the EU’s new battery requirements taking effect in 2027, we’ve designed a new version with the same dimensions, changing only the battery structure. The new version replaces the rechargeable battery and USB-C charging port with a CR2032 coin cell, making the battery easy to remove and replace in line with the upcoming EU requirements.
The mechanical design is now complete, and the next step would be tooling. Before we move forward, we’d like to hear what you think about this new version.
In the new version, the battery compartment uses a waterproof gasket to help maintain IPX4 water resistance, while a captive screw secures the cover as part of the design for applicable EU safety requirements.
The button is positioned on the side of the finder module. Three small sound openings have also been added to the front to help improve sound output.
